HIKmicro will deliver the Condor device series for the first time in November 2023. The device series is externally very reminiscent of the “Gryphon” series. However, HIK has come up trumps in terms of both the housing and the technology. The Condor is a compact thermal imaging device that was particularly designed for hunting purposes. The device has a replaceable battery system, ergonomic and intuitive operation (even in the dark) and a laser rangefinder for precise distance determination. The Condor comes onto the market in four variants:
- HIKmicro Condor CH25L: Mid-range sensor with 25mm lens (wide field of view, good for forest areas)
-
HIKmicro Condor CH35L: Mid-range sensor with 35mm lens (all-rounder for mixed areas)
-
HIKmicro Condor CQ35L: Upper-class sensor with 35mm lens (extra performance thanks to high-resolution sensor, very good for higher field proportions in the area)
-
HIKmicro Condor CQ50L: Top model with top-class sensor & 50mm lens (highest performance, ideal for longer distances.
All models have same equipment and functions and They differ in terms of the sensor used, the optical unit and the resulting different fields of view and basic magnifications.
OLED screen – The Condor is equipped with a high-quality OLED display. This type of display has high contrast and improves the representation of the image. The display resolution is 1024 × 768 pixels.
Exchangeable battery system – Type 18650 batteries are used. These can be exchanged quickly and quietly in the district. Even long stands or stalking are no problem. The batteries of this type are available cheaply in stores. Three batteries are already included in the scope of delivery.
Laser distance measurer – The LRF module of the Condor allows an exact distance determination to the target in question. The LRF can measure distances of up to 1.000m and works reliably and quickly.
Zoom Pro & Image Pro function – The Image-Pro function digitally sharpens the image of the Condor. The result is sharper contours and, depending on the weather conditions, a more detailed image. With the Zoom-Pro function, HIKmicro has taken on digital zoom. With most thermal imaging devices, digital zoom results in image quality being washed out. Higher zoom levels in particular are hardly usable. HIKmicro counteracts this problem with the “Zoom-Pro” function. The Condor software ensures that the image is sharpened as soon as the zoom is used. This is particularly noticeable at the first and second zoom levels. The image becomes significantly better and the practicality of digitally enlarging the image increases greatly.
Tilt sensor (standby control) – The device has an inclination sensor. This can control the standby of the device. If the device is hanging on the loop or lying on its side, the Condor detects via the tilt sensor that it is not being actively used and switches to standby mode to save energy and extend the battery life.
Compact housing & ergonomics – The Condor has a high-quality housing with compact dimensions. The handles are rubberized and allow a firm grip, even when wet. Despite the removable battery compartment and LRF module, the Condor remains pleasantly compact and can be easily stored in a jacket pocket or carried using the shoulder strap.
Hand strap with magnet for cap – A high-quality hand strap on the device rounds off the ergonomics of the Condor. The loop ensures a secure hold and prevents it from falling. A magnet is incorporated into the hand strap, which can be used to fix the lens protective cap. This means it doesn't dangle annoyingly on the device.
